By 2028, I imagine we’ll be looking at the UI of the final product and asking for changes directly from an agent that will be embedded into it as a ‘dev listener.’ Things will be developed on demand, tested, and then ‘activated.’ There will be no pushing to a repo. Repos and staging environments (CI) are just reflections of accumulated limitations in the software development lifecycle. Once agents take that over too, we could be making changes straight into the live product or service with no fear of breaking it, because the agent simply won’t let you.
