We have to face this: limitations are real.
Which limitations?
Ours. Our own limitations as living beings of the real world.
We are real and we see our real limitations. Better saying: we experiment our limitations.
If we were to go on foot, we would be realistic limited to visit our family members who live 100km away from us on a Sunday afternoon. The walking round trip of 200km on an afternoon is impossible for humans in the real world.
In the face of that constraint, we have changed our reality by introducing work horses, than bicycles and finally cars.
Original near distance travel limitations don’t exist in the changed reality by cars.
Up until this year, 2026, used a computer and a keyboard to write computer code that machines could interpret and process.
We could not write 10k lines of code in one afternoon. That would be like walking to our parents place 200k away in countryside.
We were limited to 50 or so lines of code a day, depending on the complexity of the problem we were trying to solve.
Giving that real world limitation, companies would have to employ hundreds of programmers working in parallel to set a higher pace of progress in product or service development.
Some thinkers1 would argue that there is a limit in productivity when adding more programmers to a development team. After some point, adding a new programmer would reduce overall productivity, not increase it.
Artificial Intelligence is the big umbrella which comprises elements that are good candidates for changing our reality the same way the work horse and the car did.
Now, through the use of coding agents and harnesses, not only programmers can generate an unthinkable amount of lines of code per day, but non-programmers can do it as well.
Results may vary.
Quality? Questionable at this point.
But humanity is now pointing at a new direction of progress with reduced limitations.
In fact, it seems to me that the limitations are set only by the amount of electrical energy at our disposal to run the equipment necessary for AI to work.
Humanity was not much concerned about raw energy production until this year.
Energy consumption and environmental impact were a major concern back then. Now they seem to fade in comparison to the need of producing massive new amounts of energy that will feed our reality changing tools.
Nations with not enough energy will be like nations with not enough railroads or cars. They’ll soon stagnate.
Our intelligence limitation is our limitation to survive, especially with a growing population.
People need their basic needs met. And this is becoming a global challenge.
Energy is the way out. It is the key for changing our reality by removing existing limitations.
Energy is all that matters now.
