NOS is gas that increases engine’s combustion giving it more power for a handful of seconds. In other words, it’s not a permanent increase in power. Once the NOS intake reduces, the engine has its original power back.

I feel the same about AI model tokens within the context of agentic coding.

Coding goes really fast and things get done in record times while the token inflow is happening.

Once the inflow is reduced, the code productivity engine loses power and new features take more time to be deployed.

Yes, there can be some differences between the various agentic coding tools, harnesses etc., but nothing beats an always available reserve of tokens.

Racing cars owners must care for their NOS supply, those nice blue colored bottles hidden back in the trunk. We as software developers must care for the amount of tokens that our pockets can afford.

In the end of the day (or night), the one who crosses the line first wins.
